MINUTES
Herold called the Cresco Park and Recreation meeting to order on 4/10/2024, at 5:10pm at the Cresco Fitness Center (CFC). Board Members Herold, Hovden and O’Brien were present. Denner and Ernst were absent.
Also Present: Brandon Kerian
O’Brien made the motion to approve the consent agenda which included the approval of the agenda; claims, and minutes of the March 13, 2024 meeting. Herold seconded the motion and it passed all ayes.

Kerian reported on the Fitness Center: Memberships – 790; up 10 from last month and up 49 members from last year!
Employees: Hovden made the motion to rehire Kelli Gosch to teach Arts & Crafts this summer for a one time payment of $600. All supplies are purchased by the Fitness Center. O’Brien seconded the motion and it passed all ayes.
Events: 4/12 Sumner-Fredricksburg School District (250 students) will be utilizing the Fitness Center/Pool. 4/22 is the 24/7 Ribbon Cutting and announcement of the next phase. 5/7 Active Aging Expo in partnership with the hospital. 5/23: Family Fun Night.
Building Project: Received quote from Skyline Demo $194,250.00, quote does not include Asbestos. Emergent Architecture (managed the school renovations) will be putting a presentation together to share.
Kerian reported on Parks: Kessel Lodge was accidentally double booked. Hovden motioned to reimburse the family for their invitations/postage $73.60. Herold seconded the motion and it passed all ayes.
Pickleball/Tennis Courts: Bob Electric gave a quote for his recommendation of utilizing existing lights and updating those at $4,600 vs installing 4 new polls and more unknowns due to limitations with the solar panels at $60,000.
Kerian reported on Recreation: Summer Programming registration will be going out within the next week. Continuing to find new ideas and meet the community needs – added 4 new options this summer.
Park-Rec Sponsorship had a phenomenal response; close to $12,000 raised to fund t-shirts and equipment!
O’Brien moved to adjourn at 5:31 pm. Hovden seconded and it passed all ayes. The next regular Cresco Park and Rec meeting is scheduled for May 8 at 5:00 pm at CFC.
