CRESCO AIRPORT COMMISSION MEETING … 8/7/24
Jerry called meeting to order at 5:17 pm
Roll Call. .. Present … Jerry Ferrie, Clair Pecinovsky, Rick Sovereign, Ross Merritt
Absent … Bryan Schmitt
Visitors… Rich McConnell, councilman
Jerry called for motion to approve agenda … 1st Rick, & 2nd Clair .. all approved.
for motion to approve minutes … 1st Clair, & 2nd Rick … all approved.
for motion to approve financials & expenses … 1st Rick, & 2nd Clair … all
approved.
New Business:
1. Clair talked to Anthony Henry, who was the other bidder to do the runway
repair, & he said when crop arial work was done for the season is when he
would work on the runway project.
2. Election of Officers … after some discussion motion was made to keep the
same ones in place. First by Ross and 2nd by Rick …. all approved. Jerry
mentioned this would be his last year on the commission.
3. On happenings around the airport … Clair mentioned that arial work picked up.
Johnson’s usually cover about 2000 acres a day with good weather. Doesn’t
appear that Midwest Custom Ag Aviation is as busy as last year. Testing to
see how round up herbicide works on the area of cleared trees. May need
more aggressive treatment in spring. Had good turn out at last Sunday’s flight
breakfast with a little over 2 dozen aircraft fly in.
4. During open discussion Clair brought up that a change to reorientate the
parking lot adding the area to the south & reducing some on the west. It
would make semi parking using the area less cramped. That area was used
during the flight breakfast for car parking needing the added space and
worked well. After discussing that possibility it was decided not to pursue
having to pay to rock that area mostly for semi parking use. Ross mentioned
that at times during winter truckers wanted to know if he could provide them
with an electrical hookup. Clair said he had truckers also ask if the airport
could provide electric hook ups. It was decided after discussing that matter
with not just cost to install an electrical plug in station but metering and paying
usage, to drop that idea also at this time.
Next meeting date … September 11th at 5:15pm
Jerry called for motion to adjourn … 1st Rick, 2nd Ross … meeting adjourned 5:50 pm.
