PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE ABOVE MENTIONED
GOVERNMENTAL BODY WILL MEET AT THE DATE, TIME AND PLACE SET OUT ABOVE. THE TENTATIVE AGENDA FOR SAID MEETING IS AS FOLLOWS:

MINUTES
Mayor Fortune called the Cresco City Council meeting to order on December 2, 2024 at 5:30 pm. Council Members Carman, Fosaaen, Bouska, McConnell, and Kriener were present. No council members were absent.
Bouska made the motion to approve the consent agenda which included approval of the: agenda; claims; minutes from the November 18, 2024 meeting. Fosaaen seconded and it passed all ayes.
Public Works Director Brenno reported: (a) Water main break on Prospect St has been repaired; (b) Plantpeddlar is taking some of the rock and dirt pile from the airport; (c) reminder to Council to review the parking ordinance and send changes to Hill.
Police Chief Ruroden submitted the November Police report. One squad car was damaged in a chase and has been repaired. The K-9 car is currently being outfitted for service.
City Clerk Hill reported: (a) new computers have been installed. Still waiting on the new server; (b) budget worksession with department heads is December 3rd; (c) the steering committee will meet on December 17th to start the update of the comp plan; (d) Howard County will be working with Upper Explorerland to update the hazard mitigation plan. The first meeting will be December 19th; (e) handed out the Fitness Center Capital Campaign project information.
Mayor Fortune recognized two employees with service anniversaries in December and thanked them for their dedication and years of service to the City and its residents: Tim Ruroden – Police Dept 13 years; Jason Miller – Water Dept 14 years.
Mayor Fortune asked for comments from the audience and there were none.
Quotes were reviewed for snow removal at seven city locations for weekends and holidays when more there is more than two inches of snow. Two quotes were received: Courtney Outdoor Innovations for $100 per time for snow removal and $100 per time for salting; Mudslingers Construction for $125 per time. Fosaaen made a motion to approve the snow removal quote from Courtney Outdoor Innovations pending verification that the quoted price is for two inches and not four. McConnell seconded and it passed all ayes.
The resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an exclusive beverage agreement was was tabled for a future meeting to allow staff to review other companies pricing.
Bouska made the motion to approve a resolution authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an easement for a driveway with Peddler Real Estate, LLC. Carman seconded and it passed all ayes.
Kriener made the motion to go into closed session at 5:45 pm pursuant to Iowa Code 21.5 (1) (i). McConnell seconded. Carman, Bouska, Fosaaen, McConnell, and Kriener voted aye.
Kriener made a motion to go into open session at 7:28 pm. Bouska seconded and it passed all ayes. No formal action was taken during the closed session.
McConnell moved to adjourn the Council Meeting at 7:28 pm. Carman seconded and it passed all ayes. The next regular Cresco City Council meeting will be December 16, 2024, at 5:30 pm at Cresco City Hall.
