MINUTES
Cresco Theatre Commission
President David Gosch called the meeting to order on February 12th, 2024, at 5:30 PM. In attendance were: David Gosch, Steve Lickteig, Ann Seebach, Kelly Bartling, and Julie Wilson. Kari Waterbeck was unable to attend. Guests: Wendy Lickteig, Cresco Theatre Manager, Joe Wacha, Cresco Community Theatre, and Stan Fosaaen, City Council.
The February agenda, January minutes, and financials were reviewed. Ann Seebach made the motion to approve, seconded by Kelly Bartling and unanimously approved by the Commission.
Wendy Lickteig presented the manager’s report. Wendy reported that St. Ben’s School in Decorah rented the movie screen, the Film Preview went well, and the Social Media Workshop, paid for by CEDA, brought new people to the Theatre. The next free matinee will be on 2/25, and “The Odd Couple” will be shown. The Valentine’s Promotion has begun. A donation of $2,235.55 was received from Marlene Michel, for the Scene Shop. Raises as of 1/1/24: Lexus Vrba-$7.75, Emmaly Hoppe-$7.75. New hires include: Claire Panus on 1/13/24 at $7.50/hour, and Isaiah Burke on 1/17/24 at $7.50/hour. Julie Wilson made a motion to approve, seconded by Steve Lickteig and unanimously approved by the Commission.
Old Business:
- Friends of Theatre-Assistance will be needed on 3/30 for Mitchell Hall at 2:00 and 7:00. Kari Waterbeck and Julie Wilson will call to ask for volunteers.
- Theatre Seats-Wendy has made contact with Bilmyer’s Furniture, and will be speaking to Lynn Scheidel about seat and flooring plans/costs.
- Scene Shop Committee-Updates were given and planning continues.
New Business:
- Fundraising
- 110 Year Anniversary-August of 2024: The Looney Lutherans are scheduled for a 2:00 performance. An outdoor movie will be shown that evening, weather permitting.
- Next Meeting Date- March 11th, 2024 to be followed by Scene Shop Fundraising Committee meeting. Kelly Bartling made the motion to approve, seconded by Julie Wilson and unanimously approved by the Commission.
Comments:
- Community Theatre-Joe Wacha reported that CCT will not be performing a spring show due to lack of people trying out. Tryouts for the “Addams Family” will be on April 29th and 30th.

- City Council-Stan Fosaaen shared insight from the recent City Council Meeting.
