Kerian reported on the Fitness Center: Memberships – 780; up 2 from last month and up 55 members from last year.
24/7 Launch & Evaluation: Launch of 24/7 Access has been going smoothly with no major problems thus far. Currently have 60 members signed up for the access, with 9 of those acquiring membership strictly for 24/7 Access. On average, 10 people are utilizing the facility after staffed hours. Installed new motion-activated lighting in the fitness room to accommodate 24/7 access as well as to help brighten overall area. Ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on April 26 where all campaign committee members and campaign donors will be invited. Kerian reported CFC staff has identified a new membership software program that could replace current system and accommodate all necessary needs. After discussion, Board agreed to pursue new software update.
Pool & Spa: Kerian reported having plumbing failures with Spa components due to age and material type. Appropriate repairs have been made with up-to-date requirements per plumber. Board suggested getting quote to replace all outdated plumbing to replace with new, Kerian will pursue. CFC staff has identified three major upgrades for the pool house in the future: 1. new pool grates, 2. tile replacement, and 3. Pool Pak replacement. Kerian will work on research, quotes, and options for all.
New Building: Kerian met with Skyline Construction to discuss estimate for demolition of North Building, they will provide an estimate soon. Discussion was had on potential architectural firms and how to move forward with renderings. Board agreed to pursue additional firms for side-by-side comparisons. Kerian will reach out to these firms with what is needed.
Kerian reported on Parks: Several upcoming projects will be completed in spring/early summer: Beadle Park playground replacement, finish paving Kessel Lodge parking lot, filling in low spots at Steve McCarville field, and a new layer of woodchips in all park playgrounds. Park bathrooms will remain closed until consistent overnight temperature is observed.
Kerian reported on Recreation: Launched first traveling soccer league program: Cresco Elite Soccer Club. Have 40 youth signed up and is going well. Park & Rec. soccer registration was made available last week, deadline is April 12. Started community sponsorship program to assist with t-shirts and updating equipment for all major youth programs. Idea behind program is that t-shirts will now be included with registration fees with sponsors being recognized on the back of
all shirts. Remaining funds will be used to update necessary sporting equipment. Park & Rec. staff are finalizing summer programs and scheduling. Summer programming will include all programs from last year, plus the addition of a few new ones. More information to be posted soon.
Ernst moved to adjourn at 5:47 pm. Denner seconded and it passed all ayes. The next regular Cresco Park and Rec meeting is scheduled for April 10 at 5:00 pm at CFC.
Respectfully Submitted,
Brandon Kerian, Park Director
