MINUTES

Cresco Theatre Commission

The Cresco Theatre Commission met Monday, October 14th, 2024, at 5:30 PM in Champlin Hall.  Members present were  Kelly Bartling, Kari Waterbeck,  Ann Seebach, Steve Lickteig,  and Julie Wilson.  Dave Gosch was unable to attend.  Guests:  Wendy Lickteig, Cresco Theatre Manager, and  Joe Wacha, Cresco Community Theatre.

The October agenda, September  minutes, and financials were reviewed.  Ann Seebach made the motion to approve, seconded by Kari Waterbeck, and unanimously approved by the Commission.

Wendy Lickteig presented the manager’s report.     Wendy reported that linoleum will be installed soon in the concessions area.  The marquis is in need of some repair, and the repairman has been contacted.  The curtain motor has quit working.  Bob’s Electric is working to resolve the issue.  There are many upcoming events:  10/26 “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” 11/2 Root River Jam, 11/3 4-H Awards, 11/8-9 Home School Play, 11/10 Notre Dame Concert, 11/17 Free Matinee in honor of 110 years, 11/24 Looney Lutherans, 11/29 Free Movie sponsored by CB&T, 12/7 Toys 4 Tots Concert, Jan. 1 Free Movie sponsored by CUSB,  in March the Luren Singers Fundraising Concert, and in April Phillip Daniel.

Old Business:

  1. Friends of Theatre-2 ushers and a commission member are needed for 11/2.
  2. Theatre Seats-this is on the CIP Plan for the city.
  3. Scene Shop-Plans are proceeding, and will be taken to City Council next month.

New Business:

  1. Fundraising-Meeting was held on 10/14.  See minutes from that meeting.  The next meeting will be on 11/11 at 6:15 pm.
  2. Sponsorships: All sponsors will be named/listed for each show contributed to.
  3. Next meeting date: November 11th, 2024.   Motion to approve was made by Julie Wilson, seconded by Ann Seebach, and unanimously approved by the Commission.

  1. Comments from Community Theatre-Joe Wacha reported that they are working on plans for a spring play with a 50/50 raffle, which will benefit the Scene Shop.

Kari Waterbeck made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Ann Seebach and unanimously approved by the Commission.
