MINUTES
Chairman Bruce Kingsley called the Cresco Planning & Zoning Commission meeting to order on August 5, 2020, at 7:00 pm in City Hall. The public hearing was opened regarding a special use permit application. Cresco Food Technologies applied for the permit to construct a 100-foot exhaust stack for a spray dryer on the southeast corner of their building.
The City of Cresco owns property within 500 hundred feet of CFT property and therefore were invited to the public hearing. Mayor Bohle and Council Members Brenno, McCarville, Fortune, and Bouska attended. Council Member Carman was absent.
Comments were received from the public and some council members. CFT Site Manager Tom Watson stated that they hope the taller stack will help reduce odor issues. Although this will not completely eliminate the odors, CFT continually works on reducing the odors.
After a short discussion by P&Z members regarding the impact the permit would have on the community, the application was unanimously approved.
The City Council did not take any formal action during the meeting.
The next regular Cresco City Council meeting will be August 17, 2020, at 7:00 pm at Cresco City Hall.
Mayor Mark Bohle
City Clerk Michelle Girolamo
