MINUTES

Scene Shop Fundraising Meeting Minutes January 8, 2024 6:30pm Champlin Hall
Present: Dave Gosch, Julie Wilson, Joe Wacha, Kelly Bartling, Paul Jensen, Wendy Lickteig, Spiff Slifka, Kari Waterbeck, Jason Passmore.
I. Architect update
a. Committee reviewed the two visuals the architect provided and will ask for additional views of the building inside and out.
b. Wendy will schedule a meeting with the 4-person Scene Shop committee and architect. She will email everyone the date and time.
II. Fundraising
a. Naming Rights
b. Review of the building resulted in an update in Naming Rights. Currently the committee has elected to go with:
i. Building $100,000
Green Room $50,000
Lift $50,000
To-be-named-storage-area $ 25,000
Stage $25,000 Overhead Door(s) $25,000 12 Steps/Risers $5,000 (Total $60,000) (need to verify # of steps/risers) Total = $335,000
c. Giving Levels
i. The committee has selected the four-level choice:
1. STARRING PARTNERS $20,000 and above
2. PRODUCING $10,000-$19,999
3. ACTING $5,000-$9,999
4. STAGE CREW $500-$4,999
d. Pledge/Donor Card
i. The Pledge/Donor card is finalized.
e. Other
i. Wendy is developing a playbill to promote the Scene Shop Fundraiser during free matinees, movies and live performances at the Theatre.
ii. Dave will reconnect with In Plain Sight-Howard Co for interview and their timeline to publish.
III. Campaign Kickoff
a. Soft JANUARY 21, 2024 KICKOFF. Free Matinee of The Wizard of Oz is the first of 12 free matinees the Cresco Theatre Commission is hosting in recognition of the Theatre turning 110 years in 2024.
b. Social Media page is live. Will add editors and the small group will meet to strategize.
c. Wendy and Dave will contact Dan Evans to set up interview for TPD.
d. Dave to work with Dean Lickteig for radio interview.
e. Develop brochure with drawings and fundraising information.
f. Scheduled for February Chamber Newsletter and Cresco and Howard County Facebook page.
IV. Next Steps
a. Finalize Naming Rights
b. Create a Contact/Donor List in the Drive
c. Committee to share Scene Shop Facebook page with their personal contacts.
d. Develop brochure with additional visuals from architect.
e. Complete initial Kickoff responsibilities.
f. Encourage as many members of the Scene Shop full-committee to attend the January 21st free matinee.
