Program Description

CO-ED Spring Soccer:  Fee $30.00   Crestwood High School Practice Fields

          Grades K-6 (23-24) 

        Program Duration: April 15 – May 15

 

This CO-ED program introduces and builds upon basic soccer fundamentals with the goal of understanding and enjoying the game. With registration, participants will experience practices, league games/scrimmages, and an end of season tournament where teams play for the Cresco Cup trophy. Games and scrimmages will be played against other interleague teams and score will be kept. The program will take place on Monday and Wednesday nights between 5:30-7:30 pm, with the exception of April 29 which will be PICTURE NIGHT (asking players to show up 30 minutes prior to game time for individual and team pictures

Official rosters and specific games times will be posted and emailed the week of April 22.

NEW THIS YEAR: Team shirts will be included with your child(ren)’s registration fees. Be sure to correctly mark their shirt size on the registration form.

 

Program Notes

  1. Games will consist of 20 or 30 minutes depending on grade, with a 5 minute intermission between periods.
  2. All three divisions will compete separately in the end of season tournament for the Cresco Cup.
  3. It is recommended that each child has a pair of shin guards, cleats, and their own water bottle. Please wear your team shirt to each game.
  4. This program is designed to encourage and develop knowledge and excitement for the game of soccer. Although score is being kept during games, volunteer coaches or Park & Rec. staff may stop the game to explain and coach certain situations.
  5. We are dependent on parent volunteers willing to coach teams and assist with practices. We need two parent coaches per rostered team. If you are willing to volunteer, please indicate so on the registration form along with your shirt size as Cresco Park & Rec. will get you a “Cresco Park & Rec. Volunteer Coach” shirt.
  6. Games or practices will not be made up due to weather cancellations (exception being the Cresco Cup Tournament). All cancellations will be made 1 hour prior to the start of the event and be posted on the City of Cresco website, Cresco Parks and Recreation Facebook Page, and the Cresco Fitness Center Facebook page. We will also email all parents involved in that sport of the cancellation.
